In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing lockdowns in 2020, Migrate Art joined Between Bridges’ 2020 Solidarity fundraising campaign, which saw a number of respected artists produce posters available to buy for £50.
All posters were printed by Between Bridges, who delivered them to Migrate Art following the lockdown. We then packaged and delivered them.
Poster artists included Christopher Wool, Wolfgang Tillmans, Wade Guyton, Gillian Wearing, Elmgreen & Dragset, Anne Imhof, Andreas Gursky, Carrie Mae Weems, Thomas Ruff, Simon Denny, Seth Price, Ralf Marsault and Heino Muller.
2020 Solidarity – the story
Before the Coronavirus pandemic, cities were filled with lively venues hosting music and cultural events, community projects were frequent and flowing, and independent spaces and publications were a haven for bespoke and unique talent to be showcased to the world. The pandemic flipped this world on its head and threatened the future of these essential creative and social channels.
In an effort to support those affected, Between Bridges, a foundation organised by Wolfgang Tillmans working to advance democracy, international understanding, the arts and LGBT rights, set up 2020 Solidarity. As part of the poster project, all proceeds were donated to Migrate Art, ensuring we as an organisation were able to survive the pandemic.
We are incredibly grateful for this generous opportunity from Between Bridges, Wolfgang Tillmans and all the participating artists.
